It's very known the use of this useful strategy in class, specially in early levels and with younger students, but since my point of view storytelling works very well in any level and withdifferents groups of age, according to the author Storytelling as a learning tool can encourage students to explore their unique expressiveness and can heighten a student's ability to communicate thoughts andfeelings in an articulate, lucid manner. Besides the arts can contribute to student academic success and emotional well being. The ancient art of storytelling is especially well-suited for studentexploration. As a folk art, storytelling is accessible to all ages and abilities.
No special equipment beyond the imagination and the power of listening and speaking is needed to create artisticimages so I agree with somes reasons why teachers must use this resourse in class with their students :
Gaining Verbal Skills
Becoming verbally proficient can contribute to a student's ability toresolve interpersonal conflict nonviolently. Negotiation, discussion, and tact are peacemaking skills.
Both telling a story and listening to a well-told tale encourages students to usetheir imaginations. Developing the imagination can empower students to consider new and inventive ideas,furthermore developing the imagination can contribute to self-confidence and personal motivation.Passing On Wisdom
Storytelling based on traditional folktales is a gentle way to guide young people toward constructive personal values by presenting imaginative situations in which the outcome ofboth wise and unwise actions and decisions can be seen.
To sumarize this, having this background as a reference, we can prepare in class for example storycards games, songs which contains stories,role plays with costumes about a fairy tale or legend, guessing the next part in a story or activities like that which encourage students to use the second language and interact each other in class.
