Study case 4 Production Define production, production process

Production is defined in the Business Dictionary online, as the whole processes and methods employed in transformation of tangible inputs (rawmaterials, semi-finished goods, or subassemblies) and intangible inputs (ideas, information, know how) into goods or services Production process is the part of the whole manufacturing process running directly in the production area of an enterprise, which is composed of: • • • working processes (with direct participation of human), automatic processes (without participation of human), natural processes(the influence of natural powers in conditions prepared by human)

The product is creating in concrete production process, which is consisting of exactly defined operations sequence. Basic production processes are: 1. Major production (its outputs are main company’s products) 2. Minor production (the production of semi-finished products and spares) 3. Associated production (its outputs arisesfrom usage of process waste from major and minor production; or it would be also the utilization of free working capacity)
