New York Harbor cash gasoline prices ended lower Thursday after starting the day on a strong note. But sources highlighted that demand for prompt barrels remains healthy amid scarce supply. During the Platts Market On Close assessmentprocess, Morgan bid for a 25,000 barrel RBOB barge of November 23-25 loading FOB New York Harbor at December RBOB plus 12 cents/gal, while Vitol offered a similar barge for November 25-27 loading at plus 10.5 cents/gal. No trades were done against either position. Ahead of MOC, RBOB traded for November 23 supplies at plus 13 cents/gal, and was valued at plus 9 cents/gal for November 25 supplies.RBOB for both barge and Buckeye Pipeline shipment was assessed Wednesday at plus 11.125 cents/gal on Thursday, from Wednesday’s 11.55 cents/gal. CBOB for barge or Buckeye shipments was still seen valued at parity to RBOB. The spread between conventional gasoline and RBOB narrowed to roughly minus 1.0 cents/gal.
