Racism is defined as being "the belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others"Why is the color of a person's skin such a big factor in the way people feel about each other? All starts ages ago, when everything and everyone you were looking at were white and beinglike that was the only way of having status and power. And nowadays we are still thinking like our antecessors thought ages ago. But, why do we call up prejudice from the past and bring it to thefuture? There is no point on this.
Racism is a term that represents closed-mindedness and rejection; is based on ignorance and hypocrisy because everyone is different from their neighbor in one way orother, so it is wrong in such many ways only judging the persons with different skin colors, eye shapes or cultures. It is also the first step that leads to more serious things such as slavery orapartheid.
How we can forget the live case of the South African black people that, years ago, were forced to live margined for many years from the white people that, obviously, has more rights and moneythan them. And if they fought for their rights and wouldn’t do what the government says they were put under arrest for years, like the revolutionary Nelson Mandela, president from 1994 to 1999; thatafter 27 years he was released from prison, won the elections for being president of South Africa and did things that no one ever thought before. Thanks to him that country tried to get over the racismand see that everyone was different in their own ways and nobody has to be judged for that.
