SLOW LIFE
I propose that we turn my home town into a place for slow life. It would be a viable way to enhance tourism. If the population can focus on slow activities this would proof to be rathereffective.

Let’s expose infrastructure: the Island has everything needed for slow life activities, it has hotels and hostels, every desirable need for hosting will be covered with these institutions,this will respond to the quick travelers that want to spend a weekend or a short period of time. For the long time visitors there are a lot of people that have chosen to rent their houses orapartments during the summer time, which is the best time that this place can offer. I’d propose a medium priced range, to ensure the quality of the tourist without making it impossible to pay. These placesand accommodations will be required to offer flexible hours of check out and such, thus providing the slow life experience.

Regarding entertainment: The Island is well prepared for versatileactivities, such as trekking, sun bathing, beaches, eco tourism, camping, bird photography, fishing, outdoor sports, windsurfing, etc. All these activities should be regulated and adapted to the slow lifefeeling, people should find the island invigorating and relaxing. There should be information and itineraries easily located and displayed all around town, for people to view and choose. Also theisland should be mapped and these maps placed in strategic points so people know where to go and at what time.

In the food department: Restaurants and bars should receive induction and training intoslow life and slow food concepts. This will prepare the infrastructure of the food business to improve service to such tourism, improving sales and service.

Entertainment industry, during night timethere will be a lot to offer, from the common bar with tapas to the whole nightclub. Being a small place they’ll have to respect sound levels and environmental impact, the Island should always be a...
