Introduction: The respiratory system is made up of organs that help the human to breathe:
1. Pharynx: A tube or a cavity that connects the mouth and the nasal passages with the esophagus.
2.Epiglottis: A thin, flexible, and elastic structure that covers the glottis, the opening at the upper part of the larynx, which prevents the entrance of food and drink.
3. Sinuses: A cavity in abone of the skull that it’s connected to the nose.
4. Nasal Passages: A space which lets the air pass.
5. External Nares: The entrance that leads the air to the nasal passage.
6. Larynx: Arespiratory tract between the pharynx and the trachea.
7. Trachea: The tube extending from the larynx to the bronchi.
8. Lung: A saclike organ that occupy the pulmonary cavity that covers thebranches.
9. Bronchi: A branch of the trachea.
10. Diaphragm: a muscular, membranous partition that separate the respiratory system and the abdominal cavity.

In this experiment, a model ofthe respiratory system was made by using simple materials to see how the respiratory system works, especially on how the lungs, the diaphragm and the trachea move and react.

Materials:
* 2Small balloons
* Top half of a soda bottle
* Clay
* Rubber bands
* Plastic straw
* Transparent tape

Methods: First of all, get a soda bottle of 2L or more. Then cut it in half andcut the part where it’s used to inhale the balloon with your mouth (not the circular part). Place the balloon that was cut (not the part used to inhale air to the balloon) and try to place it on thebottom of the bottle (the top part of the bottom). Then put tape so that the balloon doesn’t get released. After it, get another balloon and place a plastic straw through the balloon’s hole. Later,tie it tightly with a rubber band (tie it with 2 rubber bands if necessary). If finished, dispose it inside the bottle. Finally, get the clay and cover the bottle’s mouth with clay until air can’t...
