Rock and roll (often written as rock & roll or rock 'n' roll) is a genre of popular music that originated and evolved in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s, primarily from acombination of the blues, Boogie woogie. Jazz  country music, and gospel music.
The merger of these and other musical genres in the old district Points of  New York in themid-nineteenth century resulted in the Rock and Roll, and Rock.
The immediate roots of rock and roll lay in the so-called "race music" and hillbilly music of the 1940s and 1950s.
Rock and roll arrived at a time of considerabletechnological change, soon after the development of the electric guitar, amplifier and microphone, ] It was the realization that relatively affluent white teenagers were listening to this music thatled to the development of what was to be defined as rock and roll as a distinct genre.
The phrase "rocking and rolling" originally described the movement of a ship on the ocean. In 1951, Cleveland,Ohio, disc jockey Alan Freed began playing this music style while popularizing the term "rock and roll" to describe it
Because the development of rock and roll was an evolutionary process, no singlerecord can be identified as unambiguously "the first" rock and roll record.

There was a big explosion between 1954 and 1960. Suddenly, Elvis, Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard and others wereplaying rock and roll "perfectly developed, as if out of nowhere.

When the "rock and roll" fully took hold after the arrival of " rockabilly" and even more with the British invasion in theearly60's, became a guitar-based music, and guitarists, naturally sought to other guitarists and music pioneers
