Homework - Romanticism1.- Which ideas of romanticism encouraged nationalism?

Romanticism focused on the inner, spiritual side of human nature, and was skewed toward theexceptional and Sublime, maybe an exaggerated way to express emotions. In this way, Romanticism was an attempt to encourage nacionalism, the most sublime desires to be free, to be equal, to be fraternal,living together in democracy but loving the land where one was born.

Those who speak the same language are joined to each other by a multitude of invisible bonds by natureherself, long before any human art begins; they understand each other and have the power of continuing to make themselves understood more and more clearly; they belong together and are by nature one andan inseparable whole.

2.- Why did romanticism appeal so much to the middle class?

Because the middle classes broke down the absolute power ofroyalty and the political privileges of the Court party. Obviously, the middle class was the fighter against the feudalism. They were a very intellectual group of people who had had the opportunity tolearn things that were prohibited for years. So the middle class was a reactionary class that found in the romanticism an opportunity to express their social resentment.3.-Why did novels particularly suitable for describing the realism of worker´s lives?
