According to the legend, many years ago in the state of Nayarit there once was a town called Michiztlán where the king lived with his wife anddaughter, a beautiful young woman named Tepozilama, whom the king care for with extreme attention.
One day Tepozilama went for a walk in the company of her ladies, when suddenly they saw a woundeddeer.  As she approach to help, the voice of a handsome young soldier stopped them, to what Tepolizama answered: Who is this and what are you doing here?.  The warrior replied jove: I am Pintontli.The two young men fell in love knowing that there were problems between the city of Tepozilama and the Pintontli, But their love was so great that it made little difference.
