Chapter I
Introduction

Since their presentation, social network sites such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc. have fascinated many people worldwide, many of whom have joined these network sites into their daily lives routine. Social network is defined asweb-based services that allowed many people to set up a profile within bounded system, to share information with other users that would have a connection with, the panorama of their list of connections made by others within the same system, and also social networks are being used by an abundant amount of company businesses, with ads that are promoted on these sites as well. However, the purpose of usingthese sites has changed dramatically during the last five years, due to the fact of many individuals that have abused them.
Facebook and Twitter are the most abused sites by teenagers and younger generations. Also, Facebook has become an unstoppable vehicle to many different ages of people, especially to students who have or have developed behavioral addiction. Consequently, the popular socialnetworking service has presented many problems, such as threats to privacy and changes in relationships, both public and private. According to a research study conducted by instructors of psychology at the Stony Brook University in New York, Dr Joanne Davila and Lisa Starr (2009) have found that too much Facebook usage caused teenagers to develop both depression and anxiety. For this study,instructors interviewed 83 girls at the age of 13, which they clearly detailed that around of these ages, depression is highly increased due to the usage of Facebook. A year after, these girls were contacted once again for a second analysis but doctors pointed out on both of the occasions that these girls were facing depressive symptoms as a consequence of high levels of discussing problems inbetween their friends on Facebook network, which is also linked with higher levels of depression due to romantic reasons.
As many adults of the U.S society, there have to be sort of finding new ways to make this epidemic stop and not have the younger generations continue to be poisoned by these same net working sites. In the same way, intrusive technology often leads to unexpected consequences,deeply penetrating their user's everyday life, often leading to stressful and unpleasant experiences. If there is a sickly obsession to obtaining the latest media technology, like for example in mobiles or some sorts of music sites, any type of updated technology, for enjoyable period of time, can easily be transformed into the priority instrument of expressing one's self. However, being anxiousover the latest “cool thing” can cover eyes from the real needs of life. In addition, networking sites on some occasions could catch for instances cases with adolescents where there is a virtual world full of contributors that are creating dishonorable identities and it would bring teenagers distanced both from their parents and responsibility, lose personal contact, or distort their real world...
