A soccer fan that follow his instinct
The news that I’m going to talk is about a fourteen year old boy named Jonahthat escaped from his country, Ghana because his parents didn’t provide him with the basic necessities. Jonah is a huge soccer fan and his worst memory was when Ghana and Uruguay played at the WorldCup in South Africa and Ghana lost by a missing penalty of his player Asamoah Gyan. Jonah on early April in Accra, Ghana he managed to sneak in a cargo ship and he only knew that he was going to SouthAmerica. He took with him a Bible, two bottles of water and three pieces of bread; he survived eating and drinking only that. Jonah was hiding on a cellar, in a small place where he can only move alittle bit. After two weeks of hiding and surviving with bread and water, Jonah thanked God when he saw the ship anchored in port. One night in middle April, tired and poorly fed, arrived to Montevideoand he managed to escape the ship without being seen. After spending a few days on the street, he knew he was in Uruguay because of the flags he saw in the street who remembered the World Cup match, luck winked at him. A Uruguayan boy who also lived on the street helped him find food in the army and there he met the soldier Edy Yaque, who later became his adoptive mother, and named him John. EdyYaque has also adopted other kids; in total she has four children. Jonah now wants to know the language so he can study and realize his dream of having a family.
