Memory:

Memory is a function of the brain and at the same time, a phenomenon of mind that allows the organism to encode, store and retrieveinformation. Is the result of repetitive synaptic connections between neurons, creating the so-called neural networks or long-term potentiation.

The memory can retain past experiences and, as the temporal,conventionally classified: short-term memory because of the simple excitation of the synapses to strengthen or sensitize temporarily, memory medium term and long-term memory.
There are several typesof diseases of memory, an example is amnesia: Amnesia is the absence of memories of a certain period of life. The subject is usually aware that they are memories that existed, but have lost. Can bepartial or total.
