Cardiovascular disease
CVD is the leading cause of death worldwide. Every year more people die from CVDs thanfrom any other cause. It is estimated that in 2004 died of COPD 17.3 million people, representing 30% of all deaths worldwide, 7.3 million of these deaths were due to coronary heart disease, and 6.2 million to stroke. The CVD deaths equally to both sexes, and over 80% occur in low-income countries .It is estimated that in 2030 will die around 23.6 million people from CVD, mainly from heart diseaseand stroke is expected to remain the leading cause of death.

What are cardiovascular diseases?
Cardiovascular disease (CVD), the heart and blood vessels, are: Coronary heart disease - disease of blood vessels that supply the heart muscle (myocardium); vascular brain disease - disease of blood vessels supplying the brain; Peripheral arterial disease - diseases of the blood vessels supplyingthe arms and legs Rheumatic heart disease - damage to the myocardium and heart valves due to rheumatic fever, a disease caused by streptococcal bacteria; Congenital heart disease - heart defects present at birth, and Deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism - blood clots (thrombi) in the veins of the legs, which can break off (embolus) and lodge in the vessels of the heart and lungs. Heartattacks and strokes (CVA) are usually acute events are mainly due to blockage that prevents blood from flowing to the heart or brain. The most common cause is the formation of fatty deposits on the walls of blood vessels supplying the heart or brain. Strokes can also be caused by bleeding from the cerebral vessels or blood clots.

Types of heart disease
When you think of heart disease tends toassociate with coronary artery disease or coronary disease, a common condition caused by a narrowing of the arteries of the heart. It is a primary disease and other conditions may trigger coronary, but there are many more. Below is the most common diseases and conditions:
Coronary artery disease;
The coronary artery disease occurs when fatty deposits called plaque buildup inside the coronaryarteries. The coronary arteries surround the heart and supply blood and oxygen. When plaque builds up, narrows the arteries and reduces the amount of blood reaching the heart. This can cause serious problems, among which is the heart attack.
Heart attack and unstable angina;
Angina is pain or discomfort in the chest when not enough blood flow to the heart. Angina can be dangerous. So it's importantto pay attention to your symptoms, find out what is characteristic of you, learn to control it and know when to ask for help. Symptoms of angina include chest pain or pressure, or a strange feeling in the chest. Some people feel pain, pressure or a strange feeling in the back, neck, jaw, upper abdomen, or in one or both shoulders or arms. There are two types of angina: Stable angina has atypical pattern. You can probably predict when. It occurs when the heart is working harder and needs more oxygen, such as during exercise. The symptoms disappear when at rest. Unstable angina is unexpected, and rest or nitroglycerin may not help. Your doctor will probably diagnose unstable angina if you have symptoms for the first time or are getting worse, last longer, occur more often or occur at...
