Another town is Ibuza, which is a small town and lies near the great river Niger. This is where Aku-nna’s family moved after her father died. In thetrajectory from Lagos to Ibuza, there is a town named Benin City. While Aku-nna was in the bus, the countryside changed after going through this place. Near Ibuza there was a town named Asaba, in whereevery market day, in a quiet place by the river, Aku-nna met with Chike and talked. Finally, it’s Ughelli, where Chike got a job in an oil company after he escaped with Aku-nna because she was forcedto marry.

This kind of book is a drama and in the subgenre is a realistic fiction book, because it tells the reality of the customsand traditions of the Nigerian people. One of them traditions in old days was that the Nigerians sent their slaves to school to please the white men while their own sons stayed at home following thetraditions of the culture. Another tradition was that when a man wanted to marry another man’s daughter he had to pay to the father a “Bride price” so he could get married with the girl. If the fatheraccepted the bride price he was given, it meant that he accepted the marriage. At last, there was another tradition that says that after the woman and man got married, had their first night togetherand the woman was a virgin, her new family had to bring to her father a pot with wine, but if she wasn’t they brought him an empty pot.
