BIOGRAPHY OF JAY GATSBY.
 
JAMES GATZ, HIS NICKNAME WAS "JIMMY"  HE CAME FROM A POOR FAMILY IN NORTH DAKOTA. HE BELONGED TO A POOR FAMILY. HE LEARNED  THE WAYS OF WEALTHY BY THE MOMENT HE WASWORKING FOR A MAN CALLED DAN CODY. IN 1917 HE JOINED THE INFANTRY AND FOUGHT IN WORLD WAR 1, HE MET AND FALLED IN LOVE WITH A RICH WOMAN KNOWN AS DAISY. 
 
DURING THE WAR HE REACHED THE RANK A MAJOR, FORHIS PARTICIPATION IN THE BLOODY BATTLES AT THAT TIME. AFTER THE WAR, HE ATTENDED TRINITY COLLEGE.OXFORD. AT THE SAME MOMENT HE RECCEIVED A LETTER FROM DAISY TELLING HIM SHE HAD MARRIED WITHTOMBUCHANAN.
 
IN 1919 GATSBY RETURNED TO AMERICA BECOMED IN A GANGSTER AN A BOOTLAGER.  THIS ERA WAS KNOWN AS THE JAZZ AGE. GATSBY MADE A FORTUNE IN BOOTLEGGING IN ASSOCIATION WITH MAYER AND OTHERS AMERICANGANGSTERS. HE LIVED IN A BIG HOUSE LOCATED IN WEST EGG, LONG ISLAND. GATSBY MADE HUGE PARTTIES TO EVERYONE IN HIS MANSION AND THEY WHERE VERY FAMOUS. HE WAS A LONELY MAN WITHOUT FRIENDS NIGTHER LIKEPARTIES DESPITE OF HI WAS A HOSTER OF HIS. THE ONLY MAN HE KNEW WAS  NICK WHO LATER BECAME HIS BEST AND LOYAL FRIEND. HE WAS KILLED BY A MAN CALLED WILSON.

THE ROARING YEARS

1. a) I wouldhave surely seen carriages dragged by horses parked at the shops’ front doors.
b) I suppose farmers could have taken advantage from vehicles facilities, such as carrying peasants, raw material,tools, etc in a more efficient way. The communication with towns would improve a lot. The use of horses would decrease and many barns would be swapped for garages. Instead of blacksmiths, mechanicswould be necessary.
c) Motor industry consists of a broad trade in which many activities are involved. New jobs related to manufacturing and repairing of vehicles would come up. They can bemechanics, tyre shop assistants, electricians, bodywork repairers, painters and so on and so forth.
d) Petroleum was used in manufacturing of engine oil and petrol. Rubber was used to make tyres....
