The meaning of the word “Negro” in my country, Colombia

Writing about this wordbecame difficult for me since I came to this country, because in my country of Colombia “Negro” is just another word describing the color “black” , it doesn’t have any specific sigificance. It is just likeany others like the word “blue” is here no other meaning.
“Negro” as a negative word was a concept that began with the arrival of Europeans in Africa with the intention of purchasing or stealinghuman beings to be used as slaves or beasts of burden. African men and women were used to carry out work on the new colonized lands of the Americas, this makes no sense for Africans. Before the slavetrade there was no difference between them. After the beginning of the slave trade Europes used the name as one of the many ways to attack and diminish the human value of Africans and to create aterm thae dehumanized and made their actions more acceptable. This was the intent for the creation and use of the term “Negro”
"Negro" for many people, is the general term applied by others,mostly Arabs and European to descripe members of the various sub-Saharan African peoples and their descendants in America (African American) and Europe, generally have a complexion darker than yours.Some believe, therefore, that the term "black" actually does not define a human group as such, preferring to use the correct name of each culture or ethnicity.
“Negro" with nagative connotationconcerning race is a new term in Spanish language. The term "Negroid" was also used as a qualifier to mitigate the fact that great nations of antiquity, as the Egyptians were black, and by using "Negroide"it avoids saying "Negro.” Due to the legacy left by the negative connotations and racism, many people are reluctant to use the word "Negro.” However, currently imposed the idea that the denial of...
