Tipnis, the threatened forest.
Evo Morales, the president of Bolivia signed in a document agreeing on building up a road in the middle of the Tipnis forest in which it lives three indigenouscommunities. Indigenous people take action and make a peaceful march to the government headquarters to be heard and obeyed by the president.
After days of long walks towards the government’s headquarters,the indigenous follow their routine and time for preparing food comes but this are suddenly surprised with cruel scenery in which they were the victims. The police came and attacked them trying to movethem out of the way so that things could go without interruption and as planned. Their only reaction was to escape to the darkness the forest provided them with, running disorientated and terrifiedwere pregnant women, child, old man and woman who had joined the cause. But the ones who wouldn’t make it into the forest were physically violated by the police. As a result of these unashamed acts,children and adults were disappearing and a three months baby died.

After sixty two days of marching from the east, crossing freezing temperatures and incredible heights los Andes represent, theindigenous make it to La Paz, proudly received by the people and me. They were now expecting to be heard and obeyed to abolish La ley corta that has been approved without consensus.
The Protestantswouldn’t go until the government signs in a document in which it states the Tipnis wouldn’t be interrupted by any road building. If this is not done, well other measures under pressure will have to betaken with the support of all the population.
After having to cross through all kinds of emotion, finally the president Evo Morales enacted the law of protection to indigenous territory. After midnightthe marchers began their celebration by the approved law in the middle of town square Murillo.
