Costa Rica is a country rich in natural resources; according with the publicity of Costa Rican Tourism Institute in our country, "Here you cure all", also this institutionsaid in the news that tourism is increasing but the employers said otherwise because in this month the hotels are empty. People do different types of tourism, example: Ecotourism, this is popularforeign tourist who visits the National Parks and the protected areas, Rural Tourism; this activity is developed in the communities with the idea of take advantage of the resources of the place whileprotect it.
Here there are big and micro businesses in this industry, those micro businesses every day are fighting with the big competition on the market. Where I do my internship is small and familybusiness where offer to tourist the service of alimentation, this company has 11 year in the market, there work 4 women who receive the clients but they speak some words in English. In “OCOYOL” you alsocan find a souvenir, restaurant and cafeteria. The cafeteria is most visited because is where arrived the van of different travel agencies of this zone and others. In my opinion I feel that the pricesin this local are expensive for the national tourist because you can compare the price there with other place where sell thing similar and you see the big difference, it is an example where the localpeople have to adapt their life style to the tourist. In the weeks that I work there, arrive a girl with her husband to buy a coffee, when she ask me for the This place is identified by the twotypes of macaws that have owners; there are also other types of animals like deer and birds.
My experience was nice; I think that do this internship help for go knowing the industry of tourism and wecan acquire experience.
