Visiting Mr Green

VISITING MR. GREEN
SETTING: Time: 1997
Place: New York, Lower East Side.

ACT ONE.
Scene I.
1. Ross Gardiner is a twenty-nineyear old man, who was sent by Mrs. Fanelli, a social worker, to help Mr. Green with what he needs, once a week for six months. Judge Krueger sentenced that he had to do this as community service.Ross was charged with reckless driving because he was driving the car that almost hit Mr. Green.

Mr Green. Is a sixty-six year old man, retired dry cleaner, whose wife recently passed away. He livesalone in a messy apartment.
Mr Green wasn’t expecting Ross because as his telephone was disconnected so he didn’t receive Mrs. Fanelli call explaining him that Ross was coming to his house, to helphim.

2. Their first encounter was truly awkward because Mr Green didn’t know that Ross was sent to his house, and Ross was ashamed that his visit was not notified.

3. Mrs Fanelli was thesocial worker who spoke to Ross and informed him that Judge Krueger had said that he needed to do community service.

4. Mr Green’s house reflects his mood; he abandoned his home as well as heabandoned himself. He doesn’t care about a thing.

Scene II.

5. Yetta was Mr Green wife, she was eight years younger. She did everything for Mr Green, so he’s lost without her.

Scene III.6. Ross cares about Mr. Green as he picked up his mail bought him kosher food (the only food he eats) and starts asking him about his life with Yetta.
When Mr Green was lying face down on thefloor and Ross really worried about him, he wanted to take him to the doctor’s. Besides, he advises him to connect his telephone in case it happens something to Mr Green. Ross wants to assure that he eatswell so he feels much better.

Scene IV.
