From 1968 to 1986, the four members released several albums, many of them conceptual, like Wish You Were Here and The Wall (mainly a Roger Waters work on songwriting, and a sort ofautobiography). A special part of this paper is for the 1973 album, The Dark Side Of The Moon, critically acclaimed as one of the best albums ever, a must-have in rock history which talks about lunacy,greed, isolation and other problems of the globalized world. It also meant a style change for them, passing from a psychedelic and more “improvised” sound to more elaborated music and lyrics.Remarkable examples are songs like Us and Them and the successful single Money.
After the departure of Roger Waters on 1986, David Gilmour took the lead of the band, releasing two more studio albums and twolive albums. The band then separated but made a reunion on 2005 for the Live 8 concert.
