The story is told from two different points of view, those of the Will Graysons 1 and 2.

Will Grayson 1 is an averagesenior highschooler, with an average family, average house, average wishes and a common life, all of it perfectly plain, except for his best friend: the rich, gigantic, eccentric and gay Tiny Cooper, whohe describes as "Not the largest person or the gayest person on earth, but yes the largest person on earth who is really, really gay or the gayest person on earth who is really, really large."
Whenthey go to a concert of Will's favorite group, Will is left out of the club due to a mistake with his fake ID and starts wandering around the street.

Will Grayson 2, on the other hand, is a reallydepressed sixteen-year-old. He has a small apartment with his mother and was abandoned by his father. His "friends" are two geeks and a gothic girl -Maura- who wants to treat him as her gay pet.
