EDUCATIVE INTENTIONS

1. Know, understand and explain the holistic vision of health as wellness.
2. Know understand and use fundamental concepts of the principles of the Biology
3. Showrespect and appreciation for nature by explaining the importance of the earth equilibrium.
4. Learn about the most common illnesses and diseases and their prevention mechanisms.
5. Domainsand viruses play an important role when explaining diseases.
6. Analyze the role of individual responsibility for the use of drugs and alcohol.
7. Express information and opinions about DNAcomposition, replication and mutations as well.
8. Link the DNA importance with sex link disorders.
9. To understand the importance of the molecular basis of inheritance and DNA technology
10.Implement a chart showing advantages and disadvantages of DNA technology

SELF EXPERIENCE USING THE PBL TECHNIQUE

What I have experimented in all my courses, is specifically thatstudents on this level usually have hard time trying to reach goals related with specific organs and functions. Nevertheless the level of analysis toward solving more complicated problems such rarediseases related with any type of pathogen have been a surprise for me.
It has been grateful to know that students have had the ability to figure out the essence of very shadowedscenarios.
OBJECTIVE
This course, has been designed according to the different strategies previously selected by this institution, as a tool to involve students in the analysis and investigationfields.
We expect our students to think and be critical , that is why PBL strategy has been selected as the main tool to perform this course.



CONTENT
Modifications were not madeon the content, I could say that, only the addition of the PBL technique showing solving scenarios have changed. This course has been divided in the main topics and small critical thinkings were...
