A terrible night in the Mendoza Farm
It was a rainy night in the Mendoza Farm; all the animals breathed hardly while a cold but abundant drizzle fall in the glass of the window. The darknessexpanded inside the house, one mouse ran and squeaked near by the old fireplace when a log sizzled. At the end of the corridor, the old Fermin moaned weakly, the pain in his stomach started to increase moreand more. His wife had gone for a doctor two hours ago, in that moments there were not calm in the farm.
Many of the animals started to disturb; Coronel the dog barked desperately in the roaddirection, a far shadow approached speedily. Suddenly, a shot broke down the sky with a tremendous blare. A strong light illuminated that small piece of land. That thunder had discovered the shadow; it wasa horseman running faster trying to avoid the rain. A second thunder blared, but this time the old Fermin scream with it, the pain got unbearable, he looked at the window waiting for the horseman; anew moan of pain, unexpectedly, came from his throat and made him fall down the floor and he fainted wrapped in a cape of extreme pain.
The horseman fought against the weather trying to arrive atthe portico, the rain was strong and the horse panted with difficulty; the poor animal, as well as his owner, tried to defeat the rain, it ran faster and then the horseman lost the stirrups and thehorse slipped in the ground, the horseman fall near but it was late, the left leg of the horse was broken and he couldn’t do anything. the horse looked at him and the horseman decided to shot it; theanimal neighed for last time and in the same moment the sky the sky blared one more time as a farewell for the brave creature. Meanwhile, one soul still waited for help in the wet house and the flame ofthe hanging lamp was about to extinguish.
