By calling herself this way, she is conforming to his desired standards. She putsherself inferior to Torvald (the way he likes it). Using this name does not give her much respect, because she is agreeing with the inferiority standard that Torvald gives her.11. after sending Krogstad's dismissal, Torvald tells Nora, "You will see I am man enough to take everything upon myself." This speech conforms to Nora’s hopes because she thinks Torvald will defend her if the secret comes out.
