Pablo García y Montilla (1824-1895)
Lawyer and politician. She was born in the city of Campeche on 27 January 1824 at number 61 on the street today, 61 street The Paz before. In Campeche, by decree of October 10, 1882, during the reign of Don Arthur Shields, the State Legislature declared the state of Campeche Worthy, sending his portrait placed in the Caucus Room. The man so devoted to Campeche, was imprisoned for political reasons, finding asylum in Mérida.His exile lasted for a quarter century until his death.
With the homesick distant and so close to his heart and the loss of his two sons, Attorney Paul Garcia Montilla, died in Merida el July 31, 1895.

On the occasion of the centenary of his birth, the University of Havana, Cuba, was appointed the master of America. Justo Sierra Mendez was a poet, historian, novelist and theatrical self. He lived and studied in his native land until 1857 when his family moved home to the city of Merida.
