R esu m en
Al igual que una investigación de corte positivista, la investigación cualitativa
también tiene exigencias de rigor lógico y validez científica,aún cuando su objeto
sea el sujeto, la vida íntima y los contextos socioculturales en que la vida humana
transcurre, de suerte tal que la formulación, el proceso de investigación y los
resultados de ella se han de ajustar a parámetros de cientificidad. En investigación
cualitativa el rigor científico ha de estar presente en todas las etapas del proceso,
de forma que ella tenga la suficienteconsistencia en sí misma que le otorgue la
solidez necesaria para tener rango de «científica», que sus hallazgos gocen de
credibilidad y que la comprensión fenoménica ha que da lugar la interpretación de
los datos sea transferible a otros sujetos. Aún cuando los estudios cualitativos son
de suyo subjetivistas y particularistas, la necesidad lógica de validar la cientificidad
de sus interpretaciones haceque la triangulación tenga un rol fundamental en
este paradigma investigativo, pues proporciona, precisamente, su necesaria
objetividad científica. El rigor está puesto en el análisis e interpretación de los
datos más que en la recogida de ellos. En este artículo, además de plantear estas
cuestiones epistemológicas necesarias para comprender su utilidad, se analizan
los cuatro tipos detriangulación que es posible usar en la investigación pedagógica
y educacional y sus variaciones.

Abstract
Like an investigation of positivista cut, the qualitative investigation also has
exigencies of logical rigor and scientific validity, even though its object is the
subject, the intimate life and the sociocultural contexts inwhich the the human
life passes, of luck so that the formulation, the process of investigation and the
results of her are had to fit to cientificidad parameters. In qualitative investigation
the scientific rigor has to be present in all the stages of the process, so that it has
the sufficient consistency in if same that she grants solidity to him necessary to
have rank of «scientist», that theirfindings enjoy credibility and that the fenomenica
understanding has gives rise the interpretation of the data is transferable to other

subjects. Even though the qualitativestudies are of his particularistas subjetivistas
and, the necessity logical to validate the cientificidad of their interpretations causes
then that the triangulation has a fundamental roll in this investigativo, then it
provides, indeed, its necessary scientific objectivity. The rigor is put in the analysis
and interpretation of the data, more than in the collection of them. In this I
articulate,besides to raise these epistemológicas questions necessary to include/
understand their utility, the four types of triangulation are analyzed that is possible
to use in the pedagogical and educational investigation and and its variations.
