3D Printing Plan
What in 3D printing?
Currently making prototype
We want rapid manufacture not jet rapid prototyping
3D printing /layered manufacturing / additive manufacturing
Does there things:
1. Generates least waste
2. Builds parts layer by layer (new deseing possibilities)
3. Offers a high degreepersonalization
4. Offers new deseing possibilities (new shapes / new configurations )
5. Build from computer file
Two basic manufacturing concepts:
1.Top down(zoom in) = Take a block ofmaterial. Chip away to form part. This generates waste
2. Button up (Add material to build part. May need supports.
* Discuss the 2 manufacturing concepts
Both have good points (advantage,pros)
Both have disadvantage (bad points) {disadvantage / cons}
3D printing user the button up concept
What 3D printer are out there?

Current marketing of 3D printing
Dominated by prototyping

What market wants
Vs.
What 3D printing does
1. Identify overlaps (THAT IS)
Where a market needin met by a 3D printer feature (cheek the 5 thinks list in the first page)
Discuss the mind map. Use points to list the wants
3D printing applications
1. Where can 3D printing be USED?2. Advantage (what in holding it up?)
(What in delaying this?)
