ABSTRAC
In the new Chilean narrative of the 80's and 90's, just like in the Argentinian narrative, a strong tendency to use the detective format to get the reality of bothcountries during its authoritaric governments can be found. Based, above all, on the literary analysis of this two best detective novels ("Nobody knows more than the deads" (1993) and "Angels andlonesomes" (1996), I will show, using the bajtinian theoretical approach, that in the case of the detective novels of our chilean author we speak of a "estilization of Northamerican 'models'" (e.g. Chandler,Hammett and MacDonald), that, also, takes notice of the Argentinian experience (cf. e.g. Osvaldo Soriano).
El escritor chileno Ramón Díaz Eterovic nace en 1955 en la ciudad austral de PuntaArenas. En 1972 llega a Santiago donde estudia Ciencias Políticas, pero abandona pronto la carrera para trabajar como funcionario público en el INP (Instituto de Normalización Previsional), donde sigueprestando sus servicios hasta hoy.
Sus primeras dos obras son de poemas: El poeta derribado (1980) y Pasajero de Ausencia (1982). Durante la década de los ochenta publica también cuatro volúmenes decuentos, pero sus obras más conocidas son, sin duda, sus seis novelas policiales con el detective Heredia como protagonista: La ciudad está triste (1987), Solo en la oscuridad (1992), Nadie sabe...
