Target outline
Target outline: A overall description of thebackground for the project and the purpose for carrying it through – What do you wish to achieve by making this project?

Requirement specification
Requirement specification: A document that could be seen as a contract between the ”Customer” and the project group. Should be so clear specified that both parties have the same perception of what the end result should be.

Requirementspecification
Requirement specification: Must specify what the ”product” can and to what extend it is completed – is it a prototype for instance? Formulation of requirements must be testable as far as possible, so that a dispute between possible ”Customer” and the group can be solved by means of an objective test/measurement j /

Requirement specification: The requirementsspecified constitute at the same time the limitations of the project. It could also be necessary to describe to what ld l b t d ib t h t extend it is completed, is it a prototype or is it ready for production, is it only design production and/or production, possible customer demands to materials/methods etc. /

Requirement specification: It is very important that bothparties have the same expectations to the product. Therefore the requirement specification must be so extensive that nobody says: I thought that it could do that too … Why is this … not included? You didn't say it should work ;-)

Time schedule
Time schedule: The project group best estimate of: Which activity should be started Time used for these activities Who is responsible for doing it Time schedule
Time schedule: A reference for further activities Used as a project management tool according to il t t milestones Will be more detailed in Phase 3 – Planning and should be revised on a regular basis through the entire life of the project.

Tools and methods
The goal for this phase is to determine what should p j be the outcome of the project. Therefore the analysis can be made byasking the following WH words. What, why, where, which, when … The forbidden word in this phase is HOW
