One of the most devastating moments in the world was the attack of New York City’s Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. More than 3.000 victims and 19 hijackers died that day. It was a suicide attack, in which the hijackers took 4 commercial passengers jet airliners. Two of them crashed into the World TradeCenter, another one hit into The Pentagon and a fourth one was intervened for the passengers and flight crew of the plane. "Given the extraordinary impact the 9/11 attacks have had on world affairs, it is remarkable that seven years later there was no international consensus about who was behind them.” (Steven Kull).
There is a web page dedicated specially to explain exactly what happenedthat day. It started with the entrance of the hijackers to the United States at Portland International Jetport in Maine. 3 hours after, the first plane takes off the airport redirecting the flight to Manhattan. 15minutes later, the second airplane was on the sky. At 8:46, just 46 minutes after, the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center’s North tower, killing everyone on board and hundredof workers of the building. Therefore, the White House informed President Bush about the situation. He was visiting a school.
"Look!" somebody said, and a rumble of alarmed voices spread through the cabin. One of the towers of the World Trade Center was on fire, and smoke churned over the upper stories like a thunderhead over lower Manhattan. Then, just as we landed, we saw in the distantskyline the second tower erupt in flames. This was the perspective of a diplomat who lived this situation. The second crash took place at 9:03. Even thought that some people believe that it was the end, a third flight crashed a few minutes later, into Pentagon’s western facade.
At this point, everything could happened and knowing about a fourth flight that maybe was directed to the WhiteHouse. Nonetheless, the boarders of the airplane toke the control of the plain. To prevent passengers from retaking the airplane, hijackers deliberately crash Flight 93 in a field in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, killing the forty on board. The crash site is approximately 20 minutes flying time from Washington DC.
Counting the many people who died because of the crush, and those who were onthe flight, there were so many people who jumped off the Towers because of the FIRE and the exasperation. One of the most shocking Pictures of this day is “The Falling Man”. Although of thousands who jumped off, this specifically was identified thanks to this photo. His name was Jonathan Briley, a 43-year-old employee of the Windows on the World restaurant.
The causes of this attack are stillunsure, but some theorists created possible causes about what happened. Some proponents of the 9/11 conspiracy theories have speculated that individuals inside the United States possessed detailed information about the attacks and deliberately choose not to prevent them, or that individuals outside of al-Qaeda planned, carried out, or assisted in the attacks.
In fact, the principal suspectof this attack is al-Qaeda, which is a militant Islamist Group, considered for the most of the world as a terrorist organization. They are accused of carried out a firebombing of a synagogue in Tunisia on 11 April 2003, Assisted in carrying out the bombings on 16 May in Casablanca, Morocco and more. Their goal is to unite all Muslims and to establish a government, which follows the rule of theCaliphs. Caliphate refers to the first system of government established in Islam. Bin Laden has stated that the only way to establish the Caliphate is by force.
Some others conspiracy theorists claim that the World Trade Center did not collapse because of the crashing planes but instead was demolished with explosives. This controlled demolition hypothesis is rejected by the National...
