The total time of this career is 7 years of full time and 6 years for special programs such as 3 plus 3 programs, there are also more programs in different states as well in colleges. To get into law school they need to take an examination called LSAT, and according to the scores obtained they can get in lawschool. It is not recommended that the student take “prelaw” as undergraduate major, because the person must develop other background such as course of english, history, economy, etc. Political science is highly recommended because the student before going to law school they can work in government jobs, as a manager of a company and get experience during law school; also foreign languages isrecommended because the lawyer must to know more than one language to comprehend their foreign clients and help them in a better way. The law school is always monitoring the grades and behavior of the student; also they do interviews to know physically the person. Some law school have “work programs” which means the student can obtain experience working during the last school year with other legallawyers and the law school’s faculty as supervisor, for example a student may work a part time job, law firms, or in any job that concerns law. Every student that graduates from a law school receives the degree of Juris Doctor (J.D.), advanced law degrees require an additional semester or year depending on what they would like to develop their abilities. As mentioned before, to become a legal lawyer itis mandatory to take the final or bar examination, this exam is to determine if the person is able to practice law in her state, and get a license. To be eligible for the bar examination the student must have a college degree and have graduated from a law school recognized by the ABA (American Bar Association) or by the state.
