What is abortion?
The Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion of a fetus or embryo from the uterus, resulting in or caused by its death. An abortion can occurspontaneously due to complications during pregnancy or can be induced, in humans and other species. In the context of human pregnancies, an abortion induced to preserve the health of the gravida (pregnantfemale) is termed a therapeutic abortion, while an abortion induced for any other reason is termed an elective abortion. The term abortion most commonly refers to the induced abortion of a humanpregnancy, while spontaneous abortions are usually termed miscarriages.

Cons Stance
• Since life begins at conception, abortion is akin to murder as it is the act of taking human life. Abortion is indirect defiance of the commonly accepted idea of the sanctity of human life
• No civilized society permits one human to intentionally harm or take the life of another human without punishment, andabortion is no different.
• Adoption is a viable alternative to abortion and accomplishes the same result. And with many families wanting to adopt a child, there is no such thing as an unwanted child.• An abortion can result in medical complications later in life; the risk of ectopic pregnancies doubles, and the chance of a miscarriage and pelvic inflammatory disease also increases.
• In theinstance of rape and incest, proper medical care can ensure that a woman will not get pregnant. Abortion punishes the unborn child who committed no crime; instead, it is the perpetrator who should bepunished.
• Abortion should not be used as another form of contraception.
• For women who demand complete control of their body, control should include preventing the risk of unwanted pregnancythrough the responsible use of contraception or, if that is not possible, through abstinence.
