About Guatemala

Manuel Guille
During my University studies, I had the pleasure of traveling with three friends.  We saw the beautiful sites of this country through a tour operator in the city of Quetzaltenango. After some time each person took a different path. Then at the beginning of 2011, I was given a new opportunity to return to tourism, and now I am part of the largest tourism company in WesternGuatemala (Servicios Turisticos Centro América S.A.). This is where I have had the opportunity to work in specific areas, primarily in the development of one of the newest companies, called Health and Travel. Before this I was in charge of a ground transportation company (Linea Dorada). Now I am in the sales department where we offer clients various services, such as tours, hikes, transportation,and personalized travel itineraries.

Patria Escobar
Since 2009, I have been fully involved in the tourism industry, which has given me the opportunity to learn about people from different countries and to interact with them in different languages. Working in this area has also allowed me to learn about the wonderful places in my country and in Central America, among others. In ServiciosTuristicos Centro América S.A., specifically in the sales area, I have been in charge of organizing personalized tourism itineraries for Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, and Southern Mexico. When planning our customer’s itineraries I make sure that they will have the most enjoyable experience while visiting all of their travel destinations. I am currently working in Business Tourism, where I providesupport for the logistics and necessary services for an event, including: transportation services, hotel services, and rooms for meetings and conferences. I am very glad to be part of this large team.

Felipe Chub
I am Felipe Chub Jolomna, and at this time I have been working in the communities of Totonicapán, which is where I have been gaining experience in Community Tourism. During my visits tothe communities, I realized the potential work opportunities that these communities have. After working for a month in this company, I feel that Community Tourism can solve the difficult situations that affect the Guatemalan families who live in these rural areas.

Victor has been working for the company for 8 years, beginning as a chauffeur in Antigua Guatemala.After four years in this position, he was transferred to the headquarters in Quetzaltenango and appointed as the Operations Manager, his current position. Among his functions related to the driving guides, he has been gaining experience in organizing tourism itineraries. Through this position he has maintained relationships with other companies and people in order to provide quality services forour visitors.

Patrick Vercoutere
Patrick Vercoutere is an experienced traveler, especially in Central and South America. From Colombia through the Darien Gap, he ended up in Guatemala 18 years ago in order to bring some new ideas to the tourism industry. Since then he has had a consistent creative approach to finding and funding tourism projects.

The most recently started project isthe Sales and Information Center for Community Tourism in Chimaltenango, because tourism can be the engine for local development, if done in a fair and honest way. He started with the tour operator company ADRENALINA TOURS, and then expanded with CAMINANDO GUATEMALA (company specialized in hikes & treks). He has continued his ambitions through Medical Tourism (Vice-president of the Association), and through working with the Convention Bureau Quetzaltenango (Vice-president). As General Manager of the company since 1994, he has been handling foreign travel itineraries for groups and individuals, utilizing his many years of traveling experience in Guatemala and the surrounding countries.
