Accounting Career
Accounting is the information system that measures business activity, processes the data into reports, and communicates the results to decision makers. Accounting is the‘‘language of business’’. It is helpful to know if it is possible to borrow money to start up a business. It considers the industry or personal income and the possibility for the person or business to pay backthe loan. Understanding what income is and how it’s calculated is an accounting concept.
Accountants engage in a great variety of activities besides preparing financial statements and recordingbusiness transactions including computing costs and efficiency gains from new technologies, participating in strategies for mergers and acquisitions, quality management, developing and using informationsystems to track financial performance, tax strategy, and health care benefits management.
Different users including g individuals, business owners, managers, investors, creditors, and taxauthorities; review a company’s financial statements for different reasons. Using accounting information helps an individual to manage their money, evaluate new jobs, and whether or not it is able to buy newthings. Business owners use accounting to set goals, to measure progress towards a goal and to make adjustments when it is needed. Financial statements help the business owners to make decisions overthe companies.
Most accountant salaries are high, even across the various careers; experience, level of education, location and size of the company or accounting firm are generally the differentiatingfactors. Often entry-level accountants earn within $50,000 to $60,000 per year, and there is ample room for salary growth as you gain experience. Many accountants go on to become managers in aboutsix years and increase their earning potential to an average of $100,000 per year.
