Well, this lengthy novel, published in 1936, became an immediate bestseller and in 1937 it won the Pulitzer Prize.
And what about the film? Did anybody make a film out of it?Sure, my young friend. A film version of the novel was made in 1939; it had Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable in the roles of Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Buttler.

Exactly, “Gone with the Wind" is a romance, butit includes strong elements of realism. it depicts the horrors of war, for example one of the movies' most memorable scenes is the burning of Atlanta by the union Arm. Actually, the book isrepresentative of the efforts of modern Southern writers to deal with the conflict between the past and the modernist future.
