4. Design on a big poster a travel brochure similar to the one on page 28 about a location or tourist resort in Colombia, with the aim of attracting tourists or visitors.

I recommend you to look at the example of a travel brochure on 28 and find examples of:
a) superlative adjectivesb)Extreme adjectives
c)Imperative forms and
d) Descriptive language

Include this kind of language in your own travel brochure as much as possible.

5. You will have an oral quiz about point 5 above related to Suggestions and Preferences.

6. This Saturday, I will collect the pronunciation worksheet titled Telling Stories. This material was given to you on September 15 for homework.

Transcript [3.8] Listening & Takeaway English, Exercise 1

Jane: Well, I’m absolutely exhausted after the flight! Why don’t we just take it really easy today and just rest? We’ve still got two days to see a bit of Sydney before we move on.
Peter: Yeah, I’m really tired, too. I do need to get some rest. What about looking through these brochures and deciding what to do for the nextcouple of days?
Jane: Yeah, OK. Let’s not argue though, eh?
Peter: What do you mean? You’re the one that normally starts…
Jane: Pete, come on! We’ve just arrived! We don’t want to start…
Peter: Yes, yes. Sorry! OK. Well, do you fancy going to the beach and getting some sun?
Jane: Um … not really. I mean, there are beaches everywhere. I’d rather see something of Sydney … you know, walk arounda bit, see a few sights and take in a bit of the atmosphere of the place. Which reminds me: I reckon we should buy a map before we do anything.
Peter: Yeah, you’re right. But don’t you think it’s a bit too hot to do too much walking around? I think it would be better to do something a bit more relaxing … especially on the first day. How about taking one of those ferry cruises we saw in thatbrochure the other day? You know … you get to see the place a bit and I think they have guides who tell you a bit about the city.
Jane: That sounds like a great idea. Relaxing, and we’ll get to see a little bit of Sydney. Best of both worlds, really!
Peter: That won’t take all day, though. Look, it says here that the zoo is a ferry ride across the bay … we could take a ferry and go somewhere anddo something…
Jane: I think that’s just a ferry to transport people – look, it only takes 12 minutes. There’ll be no tour guide or anything. I’d rather take a proper ferry tour.
Peter: Yeah, you’re right. But what else are we going to do?
Jane: Well, I reckon we could go to the Sydney Museum or the Art Gallery or something.
Peter: Well, you know, I’m not too keen on museums and things, butI know that you like them. OK, the museum then, but as long as we don’t stay too long. What about the second day then? Any idea?
Jane: How about hiring a car and going out into the country? I really want to see some Australian landscape.
Peter: I must admit that I’d prefer to stay in Sydney for the two days. I don’t really feel like driving, and we’ll get to see plenty of scenery as we travel,anyway.
Jane: OK. Fair enough. You’re the one who has to drive I suppose, I forgot my licence.
Peter: Yes, very convenient for you.
Jane: Hey, maybe we could go to the opera!
Peter: No. We’ll never get tickets at such short notice!
Jane: Oh, don’t be so negative. Listen, I’ve got an idea. We’re both really tired after the flight. Let’s go to Bondi Beach this afternoon. We can relax a...
