Adios Mundo Cruel
The theme of a story is themost important thing the author wants readers to understand. It's the author's thoughts about a general belief of how things are or how they should be. It is nevera one letter word or sentence. Instead it is a complete sentence that means something. In the next paragraphs we will be discussing the theme of the story andreinforcing the theme with the plot.
A farmer, John Wright, was murdered. While he was sleeping, in the middle of the night, someone strung a rope aroundhis neck. The people around and the officers and people that were investigating the murderer thought that assassin who killed Mr. Wright was Minnie Wright, hiswife.
I think the theme of this story is that men do not acknowledge women, and because of this women try to find their identity and do certain things asloyalty to the gender. The men in the story present themselves as tough, very serious detectives, and the best at what they do, when actually they are not asobservant as the female characters. Also in the story they talk as if they have an identity derived from men. For example, when the county attorney, George Henderson, says to Mrs. Peter that she is a reliable follower of the law because she is wife of an officer. And then she response: “Not just that way”. Her response is away of the author to say that she is getting, from the investigation, a new sense of direction of what she is going to do to help the females of the story.
