Adolf Hitler (20 April 1889 – 30 April 1945) was an Austrian-born German politician and the leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party, commonly known as the Nazi Party. Hewas Chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945, and served as head of state as Führer und Reichskanzler from 1934 to 1945. Hitler is most remembered for his central leadership role in the rise of fascismin Europe, World War II and the Holocaust.
Hitler joined the precursor of the Nazi Party in 1919, and became leader of NSDAP in 1921. He attempted a coup d'état known as the Beer Hall Putsch. Hitlerwas imprisoned for one year due to the failed coup. After his release on 20 December 1924, he gained support by promoting Pan-Germanism, antisemitism and anti-communism with charismatic oratory andpropaganda.
In the final days of the war, during the Battle of Berlin in 1945, Hitler married his long-time mistress Eva Braun.
Benito Mussolini
Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini (29 July 1883 – 28April 1945) was an Italian politician who led the National Fascist Party and is credited with being one of the key figures in the creation of Fascism.
Mussolini became the 40th Prime Minister of Italyin 1922 and began using the title Il Duce by 1925. After 1936, his official title was "His Excellency Benito Mussolini, Head of Government, Duce of Fascism, and Founder of the Empire".
Mussoliniwas among the founders of Italian Fascism, which included elements of nationalism, corporatism, national syndicalism, expansionism, social progress, and anti-socialism in combination with censorship ofsubversives and state propaganda. In the years following his creation of the Fascist ideology, Mussolini influenced, or achieved admiration from, a wide variety of political figures.
