HTB and EXM I/O CANopen Graphical Configuration

Introduction
Configure Pro-face CANopen Slave modules easily with the graphical CANopen configuration tool.
Add and configure your Pro-face HTB module and EXM I/O. The configuration tool installs as a plug-in
in GP-Pro EX. From within GP-Pro EX it will help you by simplifying and speeding up theCANopen
configuration process. CANopen projects created and edited with the standard CANopen configuration
editor can also be viewed and edited.
Features:
1.) Configure HTB modules and EXM modules by simply choosing I/O module settings using dialog
boxes. The configuration tool then creates the CANopen configuration for you.
2.) Some third party CANopen devices take advantage of theconfiguration tool graphical interface.
3.) The configuration tool automatically switches to conventional configuration for devices that do
not support a graphical interface.
4.) Improved “classic” configuration interface features an expandable parameter listing.
Limitations:
1.) To take advantage of the graphical interface features a CANopen slave configuration must be
created and edited using thegraphical configuration tool.
2.) To take advantage of the graphical interface features all EXM modules that will be connected to
the slave must be included in the list of Available Modules in the editor. (for a list of supported
modules see Appendix A)
3.) To use I/O modules not included in the list of Available modules the slave configuration must be
created or edited in GP-Pro EX without theplug-in graphical configuration tool installed.
4.) To uninstall the graphical CANopen interface tool GP-Pro EX must be uninstalled.
This is a step by step guide to connecting a Pro-face AGP/LT3000 and EXM I/O modules. CANopen
master capability is built into select AGP3000 series (identified by the CA1M suffix in the number). An
optional CANopen master module is required for LT3000 series.The CANopen master can also be
connected to other CANopen devices, such as drives, inverters, and temperature controllers.
For your convenience, along with this application note are two completed GP-Pro EX sample projects.
Simply assemble the materials and download the appropriate sample project to create a working
example. The projects are complete projects for an LT3000 series display. Theproject
APNT1211_LT_HTB.is configured for a single HTB module. The project, APNT1211_LT_EXM.prx is
provided as an example of a typical HTB - EXM I/O configuration.
Future updates to hardware or software may affect some of these steps.
