Advantages and disadvantages of using computer network technology in language teaching

Introduction
This critique concerns the article Advantages and disadvantages of using computer Network technology in languageteaching. Written by Vu Tuong Vi (*).At present computers are usually used in many ways of our life. The question was: What these technologies mean for us in the future? The author tells us that new technologies will have many applications in the XXI century, our humanity faced a sudden threat: the “war” between virtual and real life communication. Vu Tuong Vi came up to this conclusion. Since 1980 theyhave became considerably necessary in our education process. Even so computers have also some disadvantages. firstly, owning computers we can keep accounts, write personal letters and do our homework. It is much easier and more aesthetic to write something in computer and print it. Also, computer can be useful in offices. When you use it you have less paperwork and mess. Then your work is moreefficiency and organized. Vu Tuong Vi (*) says that we can use computer network technology in language teaching. I will talk that there are two words that have a strong connection as stated by Brown (1994: 165) “A language is a part of a culture and a culture is a part of a language; the two are intricately interwoven so that one cannot separate the two without losing the significance of eitherlanguage or culture”. It means that between language and technology are good means of education When developing ideas, he also says that computers help students practice writing, learning, reading, there is always an interactive influence with technology. It is right to affirm that those two words, beyond their morphology, are complement for each other. One gives what the other needs to live andfunction.


Summary
The article presents the advantages and disadvantages in our society to explain, in a very representative way. Each concept is explained over and over and shows us the advantages of using Internet in all aspects in education.
     The author analyze the advantages of Internet in the classroom and how those skills can be developed with this material, in addition theauthor also did an explanation of the internet tools and how to use them in the classroom. [I]t is not so much the computer but the kinds of tasks and activities that learners do on the computer that can make the difference … (Hoven 1999: 149) we must know in all time when we use the computer in the classroom, we are contributing for reinforcement learning process and in some cases could be a doubleedge sword because there are other distractions in the computer system and is probable if we have not an organized class in a proper way. Finally, we have the representation from the obstacles and the materials using on internet and the implementation of (CALL) in a natural space, we will have some troubles with the implementation of this resource because is a new tool that we are going to usein the classroom but if we practice in our computer every day, over and over we will obtain good resources in the future
Critique
I want to start my critique by stating that I strongly agree with the position of believing that computers are important in the classroom because they exist as an essential part of education process. I think the connection between computers and education andAdvantages and disadvantages of using computer network technology in language teaching, it is very much more appropriate and remarking and helps people understand clearly the importance of being aware about their own culture and taking this kind of research seriously.
