1.0 OBJETIVO
Establecer los requerimientos mínimos para aislamiento de la energía.
2.0 ALCANCE
Las disposiciones establecidas en este Estándar son aplicables para todas las locaciones, si existieran requerimientos más estrictos, deberán ser seguidos.

4.1 Persona Competente
Aquella que es capaz de identificar peligros existentes y potenciales en los alrededores o condiciones de trabajo que sean poco sanitarias, peligrosas o riesgosas para empleados y quien tiene autorización para tomar acciones correctivas oprtunas para eliminarlos.
O Aquella personaque:
• Es capaz de identificar peligros existentes y predecibles en el sitio de trabajo,
• Es capaz de identificar condiciones existentes que sean poco sanitarias, riesgosas o peligrosas para los empleados,
• Tiene la autorización para tomar medidas correctivas oportunas para eliminar las anteriores.
4.2 Control Lock
Placement of a single lock (also known as an operations lock) which iskeyed separately on a group lock box by the lead authorized employee, ensuring that the energy isolating device(s) and the equipment being controlled cannot be operated during an extended timeframe.
4.3 Energy Source
Any source of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, thermal or other energy. This includes stored or residual energy, such as but not limited to capacitors,springs, elevated machine members, rotating fly wheels, hydraulic systems, and air, gas, steam or water pressure, etc.
4.4 Group Lock Box
Box that holds the individual lock keys of all employees involved in the machine / equipment service or maintenance activities.
4.5 Lockout
Placement of a lockout device on an energy isolating device, in accordance with an established procedure, ensuring that theenergy isolating device and the equipment being controlled cannot be operated until the lockout device is removed.

8.1 Requerimientos Generales
8.1.1 El equipo debe estar compleatmente aisladdo, con candado y etiquetado ANTES de incicar el trabajos.
8.1.2 El aislamiento de energía solo se debe alcanzar a través del uso de candados y etiquetas, las etiquetas deben estar aseguradas en los dispositivos de candadeo.
