Alcohol…the worst drug

The consumption of alcoholic beverages has been recognized as a big social activity and convenient to economical subsistence. Alcohol is an intoxicating beveragethat when consumed with moderation, and within the permitted contexts, reduces stress, inhibitions and causes well being feelings. Some people enjoy the pleasurable effects of the beverage and enjoydrinking different kind of these drinks. Unfortunately, a large proportion of individuals in the population face great problems because they consume alcohol excessively. Alcohol is known as aneasy-to-access drug and because of the large advertising it receives, it has become a real social problem to all ages, starting from adolescents and ending with the elders. However, many people think thatwhile someone does not become an alcoholic, drinking frequently and in high amount of doses, is not such an alarming problem. But the ravages of alcohol can be severe and most of them irreversible.Therefore, the legal drinking age should be increased to avoid family disintegration, prevent diseases and reduce fatal accidents.

First of all, the irresponsible consumption of alcohol hascaused instability on family dynamics. A family is a foundation for a growing and productive being to society. This person needs the unconditional support of their loved ones. However, in situationssuch as the problem of alcohol, the unconditional purpose of the family is lost. Not having the proper knowledge about how to work the situation, we often encounter this conflict. For instance, thedifferent way of thought between the teenager’s parents on how to work the alcohol dependence causes a lot of conflicts between the two. This is when mistrust is born, discussions emerge and it can evencause a separation or a divorce between the parents. Making the teen feel guilty and fall more into this addiction.
