Processimprovement is a systematic and periodic approach to improving the process to make it more effective and efficient i.e. improve quality, timeliness and cost effectiveness. It helps improve quality, and the inputs and outputs that glue these processes together. It is a way of solving process related problems like improving time to market, quality of deliverables, reducing defects etc. Processimprovement initiatives impact one or more processes depending on the objective to be achieved. Process improvement can be done at multiple levels for a process, a project, a function, a division, a business unit, entire organization. One of the most critical ingredients for a successful process improvement initiative is competent people.
