ANNA PAVLOVA’S HISTORY
Born in St. Petersburg in a family of poor peasants. She declared that her father died when she was two years old. Pavlova changed forever the ideal of the dancers. In the 1890s, it wasexpected of the dancers of the Mariinsky Theatre that were technically strong, and this meant, usually, have a powerful body, muscular and compact.
