Thisyear Germany’s most romantic city has improved their decade old language course concept. The 2011 course will have an ecological theme, a variety of new concepts, and most of all will benefit from the combined hospitality of two cities. Our idea is to get you out of the libraries, classrooms and laboratories you spent most of your days (and nights) in and back into nature and the sun. Moving thewhiteboard outside and letting us educate each other on different topics or places we visit will allow everyone to be a guide and simultaneously improve their German. Basically its like on a field trip but instead of a teacher who tells you what to write about, you decide what you tell us. We from AEGEE Heidelberg and AEGEE Darmstadt will help you prepare your talk on our sights or culture and in thisway improve not only your grammar and pronunciation, but also your presenting skills.

You expect German teachers lecturing you in German? No, not this time! YOU will be your own guide!

Timetable:
There will be classes every morning duringweekdays. 16 hours a week and 32 hours in total.

The ideal participant:

Be prepared to take part in an educationalblast away Summer University. You have to be open minded, without fear of talking German (you learn by doing) and enjoy speaking to groups. To have a fair idea of your language skills we encourage you to write your application in German.

Have you ever been to Karlsruhe, the “Gate to the black forest”? If not, you have missed somethingvery special. This gives us a rather mediterranean climate in summer... there is even a pyramid on our market square! Karlsruhe is a “green city”, nearly the half of the area of the town is covered by parks or forests. Especially the huge “Schlosspark” in the heart of the city provides many possibilities for relaxing, sun bathing and leisure activities. Besides that, Karlsruhe has a nice city centerwith many shops and lots of pubs and cafes and beergardens.
