Parts of speech

"PARTS OF SPEECH" are the basic types of words that English has. Most grammar books say there are eight parts of speech : nouns, verbs , adjectives , adverbs , pronouns ,conjunctions , prepositions and interjections . We will add one more type articles.
It is important to be able to recognize and identify the different types of words in English, so you can understandthe explanations of grammar and how to use the right word in the right place.

EXPLANATION :

-Noun:
A noun is a word name . Names a person , place, thing, idea, living creature, quality oraction.
*Examples: cowboy, theater box thinking, tree , kindness, arrival.

-Verb:
A verb is a word that describes an action (doing something ) or a state (being something).
*Examples: walk,talk, think, believe , live, like , I.

-Adjective:
An adjective is a word that describes a noun. It tells you something about the noun.
*Examples: major, yellow , thin, amazing , beautiful, fast,large.


-Adverb:
An adverb is a word that generally describes a verb. It tells you how to do something . You can also tell when or where something happened.
*Examples: slowly, wisely , well,yesterday, tomorrow, here , everywhere.

-Pronoun:
A pronoun is used instead of a noun, to avoid repeating the noun.
*Examples: I, you, he, she, it , we, they.

-Conjunction:
A conjunctionjoins two words, phrases or sentences.
*Examples: but, so , and , because, or.

-Preposition:
A preposition usually precedes the nominal, pronoun or noun phrase. He joins the noun to some otherpart of the sentence.
*Examples: in, on, by, with, under, through.

-Interjection:
An interjection is an unusual type of the word, as it often stands alone . Interjections are words thatexpress emotion or surprise, and usually followed by exclamation points.
*Examples: Ouch , Hello,Hooray , Oh no, Ja!

-Article:
An article is used to introduce a noun.
*Examples: the, a, an.
