Definition Essay: Love

The word love has no true definition. I honestly do not understand why it is even put in the dictionary. The word love to me canmean something that is completely the opposite of what it may mean for you. It is an indescribable feeling that no one can explain its context on a mire piece of paper. The reasons why I believe thisis true is because love has different levels, different meanings, different everything.
The amount of definitions based on the word love in only one dictionary was over whelming, there was toomany, and quiet frankly I had no idea which one to write down. Therefore I picked the ones that had more meaning towards to what I felt the word love truly means.
Love–noun
1.A profoundly tender,passionate affection for another person.

2.A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a

parent, child, or friend. 3.Sexual passion or desire. 4.Sexual

intercourse;copulation. 5.Affectionate concern for the well-being of

others: the love of one's neighbor. 6.Strong predilection, enthusiasm,

or liking for anything: her love of books. 7.The benevolent affectionof

god for His creatures, or the reverent affection due from them to God.

In order to truly concept the meaning of love, it is very important to first have some background information based onit. It seems to me that if we truly want to find the true origins to this word we would have to find it in the bible dictionary. The bible dictionary is based on the religion of Christianity, whichmeans people that follow Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Supposedly there is a saying in which people refer to Jesus as Love, so I believe this would be an excellent way to get deeper into the meaning oflove.
This word seems to require explanation only in the case of its use by our Lord in his interview with "Simon, the son of Jonas," after his resurrection (John 21:16, 17). When our Lord says,...
