An Engineer

What is engineering? Is it a subject, a profession, or a job? When I hear Engineering, I think in a person that uses the mind to solve problems. I think in a job where an engineer uses theknowledge to found solutions. I think it is professionally a “passion” that one chooses to follow, which at the same time it is a job in our community which practically runs what we call system. Inwhat way you might ask? Well the thing is that engineering is one of the most abundant professions in our society, and that is because there is an abundant variety of engineering branches whichall contribute in a way in the production and the productivity of the world. Maybe not everyone believes or thinks the way I do towards the subject, but one thing is for sure, this is a job thatrequires full concentration and dedication to what you’re doing, especially since engineering involves developing models, mathematics, and processes which cannot have a miscalculation becausethat might affect significant results of your project. In my perspective that is a pretty challenging task. And as a matter of fact, every single one of those procedures is used in our daily lifeto run the “cycle of life” in which we live in. And that is what motivates me to pursue this career; the fact that I have to challenge myself to accomplish a project. It motivates me the way Ihave to put myself certain goals to make everything run the way that it’s supposed to. That’s what I call a career. I won’t say that I don’t plan on enjoying the benefits that come from being anengineer; I’m just saying that that is a “side dish”. “To enjoy in the future, make sacrifices in your life”. Why did I say this? Because I’m conscious that to achieve what I want, that is tobe an engineer, then that means I have to study hard, dedicate my time to my studies, and always put the best of me in the table so that it will bring good things to my life in the future.
