Summary:
In a future society, the government has forcedequality between its citizens.
The Handicapper General agency took the 14 year-old son of Hazel and George and put him in jail.
Since George hasabove-average intelligence he must use a handicapper that makes him equal from others.
Once George and Hazel were watching ballerinas on TV, the dancers were forced touse handicappers to prevent them to seem above average. George starts thinking about his son, but his thoughts are interrupted by a handicapper while 2 of the8 ballerinas on TV fall to the floor.
Hazel tells George that he looked tired so he should remove some of his handicappers; George refuses and reminds Hazelabout the laws.
While they were watching TV an announce that said that Harrison had escaped from jail appeared.
Harrison enters to the studio and declareshimself the new ruler, he invites a ballerina to become his empress, so they remove the handicappers and start to dance.
Diana Moon, the handicapper general,shoots and kills them while Hazel watches it, but the handicapper makes her forget it.
