ABSTRACT

The MYPES in Peru make up the bulk of the business. Even if we focus only on the formal segment, representing more than 95 percent of the business units. The strengthening of this sector is therefore critical to economic growth spreads. For this, the access of the MYPES to credit markets isa crucial factor. During the last decade, microfinance has shown great dynamism, despite the international financial crisis and prolonged recession in the late nineties, which affected the health of the financial system. While progress has been important, the challenge of providing access to credit at reasonable costs for MSEs involves long-term consistent policies.
In this sense, it isimportant to take stock of and analyze the current situation which should be directed toward efforts to strengthen the sector. It should also highlight the importance of the microfinance market in Peru in the international context. In late 2001, four Peruvian MFIs were among the ten largest MFIs in Latin America (Microrate 2002). At the same time, commercial banks have rediscovered the potential of thesector and have initiated over the past two years aggressive policies to expand participation (Chowdry 2004). Growth of MFIs and climate delivery of liquid assets by commercial banks have created a very competitive environment which is already resulting in significant reductions in the cost of credit.
It is therefore necessary to enhance the development capacity of the MYPES to fill the gap inthe middle and upper mentioned. Several factors limit the development of productivity and competitiveness of those, the lack of coordination and integration between the companies is in addition to other common constraints to business development in Peru, such as the low technological development, low human capital and limited access to finance, among others (information systems and trainingstart-ups). The lack of coordination is a central problem as a barrier to increase efficiency through specialization and subcontracting.
Small and micro businesses are one of the pillars of the national economy. Your participation in the country's development is important and having the necessary support could become be the solution to economic problems and large population centers unemployment that areoccurring in the country.
Micro and small enterprises as an economic phenomenon emerged that sought to answer many of the unmet needs of the poorest sectors of the population. In this sense, it constituted an alternative to unemployment, low economic resources, lack of opportunities for personal development. But despite these benefits, the sector still has not achieved its full potential, dueto a number of factors such as lack of financial support and little real importance given to it by successive governments in their work agendas .
One of the sectors in which the MSE has achieved a strong presence and high development, is the industry. It is known for the textile industry in the area of ​​Gamarra in the case of Lima and José Luis Bustamante y Rivero or Miraflores Paucarpata or inthe case of Arequipa, where this activity has become a productive strength at the country or the region.
Thus, the study aims to analyze the structure and profile of the small and micro manufacturing of garments, production dynamics and assess their level of success as the business sector and its degree correlation with the financial sector. In addition, research to assess the impact of...
